Endosleeve versus high-intensity diet and lifestyle therapy...
A recently published case-matched study by researchers from The Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions analysed weather the endosleeve procedure (combined with low-intensity diet and lifestyle therapy) performed better than a high-intensity diet and lifestyle therapy without the endosleeve.
In a group of 105 endosleeve patients (ESG) compared to 281 high-intensity diet and lifestyle therapy patients, the endosleeve patients lost 20.6% of their weight versus 14.3% in the non-surgical group after one year..
The researchers conclude that the ESG endosleeve appears to be a valuable alternative for patients who experience difficulty adhering to high-intensity diet and lifestyle therapy.
